See the Difference!
When your child begins with us, we start with testing and screeners to gauge where they need support. We do not want to waste your time teaching their strengths! Students are tested frequently during their duration here to prove progress and drive their learning plan. Progress tests are of no additional charge to you while enrolled.
We believe in books in hands, scribbling pencils, and multiple sensory input when learning. We live in a very flat-tech world; learning should not be flat!
Multi-sensory input allows for solidified learning.
During sessions, students engage in things like writing in shaving cream, finding words around the room, and throwing dice. They are met with consistent reinforcement through our token economy, which can be used on the prize shelf. All students participate in a 5-minute play break during sessions to maximize learning and minimize glazed looks. We promise, they will enjoy tutoring!
Solidify Learning is available to attend IEP and 504 meetings, as well as help advocate for resources for your child. We will additionally provide documentation for these meetings. This is a free service for regular attendees. We truly believe a student's success is possible with proper support. In the event we cannot make it, we will provide proper documentation and a letter to represent your child.
Solidify Learning sends regular updates to you and your child's teacher to ensure a strong partnership. We are honored to be an extension of your child's teacher's work.
Mission Statement: Our mission at SOLidify Learning is to meet your child where they are, and strategically intervene to ensure success, develop confidence, and instill a desire to know more.
SOLidify Learning was founded at the end of May 2025 by Morgan Dietz and husband, Wesley, and hosted within their residence located in the quaint city of Chesapeake.
They began on a Saturday, offering a “soft opening special” when two kids arrived for their sessions. Over the following weeks, SOLidify began to grow incrementally, necessitating more tutors and the conversion of an additional room in the home for classes.
In September of 2025, Morgan and her staff of three had begun to feel the growing pains of 21 students and 36 sessions flowing in and out of the home weekly. Morgan posted on Facebook, asking locals in Chesapeake City for help finding a low-rent space. Many churches, music studios, and dance places jumped in to offer help!
After meeting with several, Morgan and Wesley felt the best match was Green Acres Presbyterian, located on Hanley Avenue in Portsmouth. The wing had just been beautifully renovated. Pastor Beth proclaimed, “We want holy noise back in our building”. They surpassed what SOLidify Learning could have even asked for.
